It ROCKS!!!

Man, I love being in our new house.

I know it's been a while since my last entry, but we've been really busy.

The day before (Aug 30) the closing Leon called and said that the closing costs were $11,000 and we only had $7,000. So we had to scramble around and borrow money from Paul's parents and my dad, oh, and Beth. Fortunatly we were able to pay them back the next day becuase Paul got paid. And then Leon pulled some strings so the closing costs were a little less the $4000. I don't know what he did, but I'm really thankful... That was a VERRRY stressful day. I was so afraid that we wouldn't be able to get the house... BUT WE DID!!! YAY!!!!

It took us two days to move out of the apartment. It was a pain in the ass. We broke the fish tank stand and the computer desk. Oh well.... We were there until midnight on the 31 and then had to come back on the 1st and finish everything up. It was crazy!!!

Then we spent the weekend trying to get everything put away, because on Monday my Dad came. I had alot of fun with him and am really glad that he came. Honestly, I really didn't think he would show up. But he did. We went to Port Huron to the Blue Water Bridge and then to Lexington to see Lake Huron on Tuesday. On Wednesday we went to Greenfield Village. It was really cool seeing all the historical stuff... very interesting. Wednesday night we all went to down town Detroit and had a blast. We ate at Nikis... the best freaking pizza in the world. Then we rode the people mover... it was kinda scary, I didn't like the turns... but also cool... We also walked along the rive. And then my dad left Thursday morning. Can't believe that was a week ago....

We've been in the house 2 weeks... it's so awesome. But it also feels like we've been here forever, I don't really think about the apartment all that much... seems like we were never there.

The cat seems more at home here then he did in the apartment, but getting him here was horrible. First of all he doesn't like car rides. So on the car ride here he cried the whole way. I felt horrible listening to him. And then when we got to the house and Paul was carrying the carrier in the whole thing was shaking... Poor Precious was freaking out. Then we took him down to the basement (still in the carrier) and he'd peed all over himself cause he was so scared. So we locked him in the basement all night and I gave him a bath the next day and let him loose in the house. He went nuts exploring everything. It was cool watching him check everything out. Also that night was the first time he'd ever seen stairs. It was so funny. He was like "What the hell is this, and how am I supposed to get up these damn things!" It was hilarious. but he's figured it out and thumps up and down them all the times. Plus he's not eating as much because his food is in the basement, and we all know how lazy he is!!!! So maybe he's lost some weight!!!

So let's see... what else....

Oh yea, Paul's turned into "Mr. Fix-It". It's hilarious but awesome. He's gotten really good with caulking and grout... Just doing minor things, the big things we'll have the association fix.

Our shower heads don't get hot water... it barely gets warm. But the bath tubs and sinks upstairs get scalding hot... so that's something the association will have to fix. Plus, our door bells don't work... those are just a couple things that need to be fixed, not that theres alot.

On Monday (Sept 18) I'm having our metting here at the house. I'm excited about it... getting to show off the house to them... It's cool.

This weekend we're going to paint the living room. The color is "Gobi Desert". If we have the money I want to do the kitchen too, even though at some point we want to tile the wall below the cabinets. We can still paint, and then tile over it at some point.

There's alot of stuff to do in a house, but I LOVE it!!! I still can't believe we're here... It's awesome!!!!

That's all that I can remember for now, I'm sure that I've left off alot of stuff... if I remember anything else I'll post again...

Oh yea, Paul wants me to look online and see how much blinds will be for the living room... God I love that man!!!!
